Personal Finance???

Thanx to all the people who cared to comment.

Well it was a day spent on futile searches regarding personal finance guides available on internet. Rediff.com has a link for personal finance. I also came across another blogger with the same interest http://desimoney.blogspot.com. Although the blogs are interesting but still many of us wouldn't be able to understand it.

But what struck me is that although young people claim to be quite informed in many respects, personal finance has not been something which interests us. At this point I would appreciate if people came forward and give us some of their own personal finance problems/queries on which all of us could ponder over.

Feel free to post so that this journey can take some meaningful direction.

money does matter

All those who search for eternal truths of life through blogs are in the wrong place cos this blogspace does none of that.Now this is one blogger who would love to see all the young go-getters more financially literate than they already are.Not that i know much about it myself but would still love to share ideas.

Now I am going to finish college next year and might even land up with a job. I feel i will be like the thousands of young people who every year get jobs and enjoy the freedom of financial independence. So what do the thousands of young people do? Beleieve me most of the people like us do not even fully understand the salary details which come with the offer letter. Now spending whatever we earn might be a thing which would come naturally to most of us because that is something which would help us buy at least some of the infinite things on our wish list and keep us and our family members happy at least on a temporary basis.

Although whatever I said would be so easy to do I fear that this philosophy might be short sighted. What if I end up paying dozens of monthly installments and even then end up feeling poor cos I would have no cash.

Number of questions remain unanswered -

Where do people get the PAN number the Income Tax ppl are so bothered about.

Can a person like me also get something out of the bull run going on?

How do ppl go about purchasing shares and MFs which all the channels and newspapers talk about?

What do I need an insurance for? Would it really help me?

Where do the ppl who know all about these thing exist?

Although this might seem like a waste of blogspace but I am sure each one of us has doubts like these and would love to have them answered.
